Whitley Bay-based Di Meo’s Ice Cream picked up 10 prizes in the 2024 Great Taste Awards, including three highly coveted three-star honours.
Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, the Great Taste Awards is one of the most prestigious food and drink awards worldwide, with more than 14,000 products put through a rigorous blind judging process.
Three-star awards – the highest honour – were awarded to Di Meo’s hazelnut piemonte IGP gelato, pistachio and amarena cherry gelato, and pure bronte pisacchio gelato.
There were two-star awards for the team’s dark chocolate gelato and tiramisu gelato. One-star awards were presented to the team for their Belgian white chocolate gelato, Madagascan vanilla gelato, milk chocolate gelato, pearl of African vanilla gelato, and pure strawberry gelato.
